My sister could not be in a better place.
I want to thank you and all the staff for what you are doing for my dad and Jim. It's such a comfort to me that you have gone above and beyond to make sure they have quality time together.
My sister has been at Forest Springs for many years now. Originally it was at my Mother's request as she lived in northern Maine. But my mother passed away and it has been at my request that my sister remain at Forest Springs, even though I live in eastern Maine and could relocate her closer to me. I did this because of the caring and compassionate care she receives from all of the staff - from the cook through to the caregivers, nurses, social worker, and administrators. They all provide my sister with warm, caring and safe environment that I feel is hard to emulate, but that you can sense when you walk through the door. She is well cared for both mentally and physically. The facility is homey and very clean. The individual bedrooms are lovely and set with the 'homey' touches that make each room personal to each individual. I feel that finding a residence that provides all of the above for my sister and a sense of security for me is of the utmost importance. They are the BEST!
To the amazing caregivers at Harmony (Community Living Association):
We just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the care you give Walter. As you know, my father and I travel every three months, 222 miles to Houlton from Lewiston for Walter's quarterly update. I have to admit it is a long haul, but the care that he receives is phenomenal and we could not relocate him closer and have him receive the same care.
It takes a special kind of person to put their needs aside in service to another. All of you do it every day and we want you to know that your hard work has not gone unnoticed. Your strength, determination, and willingness to show up - to spend your precious time and energy on someone who needs you - is a selfless act of good in the world. We need more people like you.
For every encouraging word you speak, every tear you wipe, or meal you cook, please know that your contribution matters. You are not only making a difference in the life of a single person, you are making a difference in the world.
I want you all to know how much I appreciate all the care and attention you give Jeff. I know I don't contact you very often to ask how he is but it's only because I know he is well cared for and if anything is needed, big or small, you always let me know. Jeff has been involved in or lived in several places throughout his life. CLA has been by far one of the best. It's hard for me to realize it won't be long and he will be reaching his 10th year at CLA. I hope you all know that I feel extremely fortunate that he is in a safe, clean environment with a staff that truly cares about him and his needs. I know I don't take the time to say it often enough but to all of you I say Thank You for all you do and I am truly blessed to be able to have Jeff reside at CLA.
To all the Forest Springs Staff:
I'm not sure I can put into words how much I appreciate all that you did for Graydon and I while he was in the hospital. All of the cards, visits and encouraging chats were just wonderful. People ask me why I don't move Graydon closer to me. I tell them that I truly believe that he cannot get better care anywhere else. Forest Springs is his home and you are all our extended family. Thanks and God Bless you all.
